T1 and GAM Meet in EWC 2026 Group Stage
TL;DR
T1 and GAM Esports opened their EWC campaigns with a one-game clash featuring Faker, Kiaya and two drafts packed with skirmishing tools.
Watch on YouTubeT1 against GAM Esports brought together two teams that rarely need encouragement to fight. Faker, Doran, Oner, Peyz and Keria represented T1; GAM countered with Kiaya, Draktharr, Gloryy, Artemis and Taki. In a best-of-one, that appetite for action made the matchup especially dangerous for both sides.
T1's recent international run included a 3-0 win over FURIA and a 3-1 loss to G2 Esports. The format gave that aggression a real chance to matter.
GAM drafted Cassiopeia, Naafiri, Vayne, Jhin and Pyke. It was a sharp-edged composition with plenty of threat once a target was exposed. T1 responded with Orianna, Gnar, Vi, Taliyah and Shen, leaning into reliable initiation and the ability to collapse quickly when a fight started.
Both teams also attacked the other's playmaking pool. GAM banned Nocturne, Jayce, Bard, Lucian and Syndra. T1 removed Akali, Camille, Jarvan IV, Alistar and Nautilus. The result was a game set up around execution rather than patience: Vi and Shen could force the issue for T1, while Pyke and Naafiri gave GAM every reason to keep looking for chaos.
