The LCS (League Championship Series) returned as a standalone North American league in 2026 after the single-year LTA experiment in 2025. The revived competition now runs on a three-split calendar that starts with Lock-In before moving into Spring and Summer.
The current eight-team field includes returning core brands like Cloud9, Team Liquid, FlyQuest, and Dignitas, plus newer 2026-era entries such as LYON, Sentinels, and Disguised. That makes the present league page materially different from the older pre-2025 franchise lineup.
Even with the structural reset, the LCS still leans on rivalry storytelling, playoff volatility, and a fanbase that keeps major regional matches relevant far beyond the standings table.
