Weibo Gaming signs Clearlove as head coach, EDward Gaming parts ways with longtime leader

Clearlove is back on the LPL stage with a new badge. Weibo Gaming signed the former EDward Gaming head coach on July 15, handing him the top coaching role while Shine moves from head coach to coach.

That is the headline move of the day in China. Clearlove is one of the biggest names tied to EDG, both as a former star jungler and as a coach, so his exit from EDward Gaming and immediate landing at Weibo Gaming carries weight. For WBG, this is a clear attempt to add authority and experience to the staff rather than start over completely. Shine remains in the setup, but the title change makes the new structure obvious, Clearlove will lead, and Shine will support.

EDward Gaming, meanwhile, officially loses its head coach. The announcement closes another chapter for one of the organization’s most recognizable figures. Even without a replacement named here, EDG now has a notable vacancy on the coaching side.

The other move is at ThunderTalk. Bot laner Ryan3 has left TT, trimming the team’s options in the AD carry role. No replacement was included in this update, but the departure still matters for a roster that has spent much of the year searching for stability.

Taken together, July 15 brought one major coaching transfer and two follow-up changes around it. Weibo Gaming made the boldest call by bringing in Clearlove and reshaping its staff on the spot. EDG loses a franchise name from its coaching room, and TT now has one fewer bot lane piece on the books.
